Mandatory Reqirments for All Applicants

All applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a governing body-recognized qualification. (TW Medics does not currently provide qualifications.)

  • Have a DBS certificate registered on the update system or a current enhanced DBS. If a renewal is required, TW Medics can process this at a cost of £105.

  • Maintain a full clinical development portfolio, including mandatory training certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Immediate Life Support (ILS), and Advanced Life Support (ALS).

Ambulance Service

First Responder

  • Must hold a FREC 3 qualification or be an active member of an NHS responder scheme with ongoing training.

  • FPOSI is accepted but with restrictions as per TW Medics' Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Paramedic in Uniform

Urgent Care Assistent

  • Must hold a minimum of FREC 4.

  • New UCAs must complete 180 hours of supervised practice under an experienced FREC 4 before being allowed to practice solo.

  • Must provide an up-to-date clinical development portfolio at the interview. Support is available for those without a current portfolio.

Emergencey Care Assistent 

  • Must hold a FREC 4 qualification.

  • Must have a Certificate in Emergency Response Driving (Level 4 minimum).

  • Must present an up-to-date clinical development portfolio at the interview.

  • Those currently working as an Ambulance Support Worker or Clinical Care Assistant for an ambulance trust are also eligible.

Ambulance Technician

  • Must hold FREUC Level 5

  • IHCD Technician who has completed:

  • A full portfolio of 750 clinical hours.

  • A minimum of 250 clinical hours in the last year.

  • An ambulance trust conversion to FREC 5 or an AAP program (if applicable).

  • Current Employed by an Ambulance Trust

  • Must possess a valid CREAD certificate in Emergency Response Driving.

Paramedic

  • Must be registered with the HCPC and provide a clinical development portfolio at the interview.

  • May be required to complete an OSCI at the TW Medics office unless working remotely.

  • Must have control drugs and full supporting documentation proving legal issuance, ownership, and disposal methods.

  • TW Medics may supply medications periodically.

Critical Care Paramedic

  • Must be registered with the HCPC and provide a clinical development portfolio at the interview.

  • Currently Working in the role as a Critical Care Paramedic on hEMS or Critical Care Care

  • Must hold an active NMC registration.

  • Additional qualifications such as ALS, wound closure, and cannulation are advantageous.

  • Advanced Clinical Practitioner status is beneficial.

Doctor

Doctor

  • Must hold an active GMC registration.

  • Experience in A&E, anesthesia, or HEMS is advantageous.

  • A minimum of one year of experience as a doctor is required.

  • Must have an ALS certificate and wound closure training.

  • Full kit may be required; contact HR for details.

Terms & Conditions 

1. General Terms

By applying for any position at TW Medics, applicants acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined in this document. The terms apply to all roles listed within the organization, including but not limited to First Responders, Urgent Care Assistants, Emergency Care Assistants, Ambulance Technicians, Paramedics, Nurses, and Doctors.

2. Eligibility and Qualifications

All applicants must meet the following mandatory requirements:

  • Governing Body-Recognized Qualification: All staff must hold qualifications recognized by the relevant governing body. TW Medics does not provide these qualifications, and applicants are responsible for ensuring their qualifications meet the necessary standards.

  • DBS Checks: All staff are required to have a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate registered on the update system or a current enhanced DBS. If your DBS certificate becomes invalid, TW Medics offers a service to process the renewal at a cost of £105.

  • Clinical Development Portfolio: All applicants must maintain an up-to-date clinical development portfolio, which includes mandatory training certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Immediate Life Support (ILS), and Advanced Life Support (ALS).

 

3. Role-Specific Requirements

  • Job Role Requirements: Applicants must meet the minimum role-specific qualifications and experience requirements for the position they are applying for (as outlined in the specific job listing). It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure they fulfill these criteria before applying.

  • Experience and Training: Applicants must provide proof of relevant experience and clinical development. Where applicable, applicants may be required to undergo further training or supervised practice as determined by TW Medics.

  • Medical Equipment and Kit: As a UK remote supplier, all medics are expected to have access to essential medical equipment, including medical gases (Oxygen, Entonox), life-saving drugs, AEDs, and monitoring equipment (ILS/ALS Monitors with 12-lead, as required for certain roles). The applicant must provide proof of legal ownership and possession of the required medical equipment.

 

4. Equipment Standards and Compliance

  • Medical Equipment: All medics must have access to, or the ability to deploy, essential medical equipment. This includes:

    • Medical Gases: Oxygen, Entonox, and life-saving drugs (where applicable).

    • HCPC-approved medications.

    • Monitoring Equipment: AED, ILS/ALS Monitors (with 12-lead as required for certain roles).

    • Safe Administration of Life-Saving Medications: Level 4 qualification in Safe Administration of Life-Saving Medications is advantageous for certain roles, such as Emergency Care Assistants (ECA).

  • Proof of Ownership: Before approval for remote solo work, applicants must provide proof of legal ownership and possession of the required equipment. TW Medics reserves the right to request evidence or perform in-person checks to ensure compliance with equipment standards.

5. Remote Work and Equipment for Solo Events

  • Remote Work Approval: If the role involves remote work (e.g., at events or on location), the applicant must possess the necessary equipment as outlined above. If an applicant does not have the required kit, they may apply for roles where all equipment is provided by TW Medics.

  • Compliance with CQC Standards: TW Medics reserves the right to ask for a supporting evidence pack or to conduct an in-person equipment check to ensure compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations.

 

6. Terms for Specific Roles

  • FREC Requirements: Staff applying for roles such as First Responders, Urgent Care Assistants, and Emergency Care Assistants must hold the relevant FREC (First Responder Emergency Care) qualifications and may be required to complete supervised practice or specific driving certificates as applicable.

  • Paramedics and Doctors: Paramedics must be registered with the HCPC, and Doctors must hold an active GMC registration. Specific experience in areas like A&E, anesthesia, or HEMS may be required, and certain roles may require the applicant to provide full kit, including control drugs and documentation proving legal ownership.

 

7. Personal Data and Privacy

By applying for a role with TW Medics, applicants agree to the collection and processing of their personal data for recruitment and employment purposes. This includes the handling of qualifications, DBS checks, clinical development portfolios, and other personal information required for the recruitment process.

8. Employment Terms

  • Contract: If successfully selected for a position, the applicant will be offered an employment contract outlining the role, hours, pay rate, and other terms. Employment with TW Medics is contingent on the successful completion of all necessary background checks, qualifications, and equipment verification.

  • Employment Status: Depending on the role, employment may be offered as permanent, temporary, or freelance.

 

9. Health and Safety Compliance

All staff must comply with TW Medics’ health and safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to safe driving, the correct use of medical equipment, and adherence to protocols for responding to emergencies. Failure to comply with safety standards may result in disciplinary action or termination of employment.

10. Changes to Terms and Conditions

TW Medics reserves the right to amend or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated to applicants and employees accordingly. Continued employment or participation in the recruitment process implies acceptance of the updated Terms and Conditions.

 

10. Application Process

Candidates must ensure they meet the qualifications and equipment requirements listed in the job role descriptions before submitting an application. TW Medics will review applications and may contact candidates for interviews or additional information if necessary.
